Burgess to Hold Big Blue Run Event June 27

Burgess Health Center will host its second annual Big Blue Run Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 a.m. along the scenic routes of Blue Lake in Lewis and Clark State Park in Onawa.

 The events will be a 5K walk/run and a 10k run along paved paths in the park. There also will be a 1.5 mile fun walk. The event is organized by Burgess run enthusiasts as a salute to heart health and fitness. It will take place rain or shine. Refreshments will be served.

"Last year's event was a success, despite cold and rainy weather conditions. We look forward to hosting a great event this June," says Kris Petersen, a member of the Burgess run committee.

Persons can pre-register online at www.allsportcentral.com or Burgess. Those who pre-register by June 12 will receive the official 2009 blue run t-shirt.

The fee will be $12 for the 5K and $15 for the 10K. Persons registering later will pay $15 and $20 respectively. Members of Missouri River Runners Club and Burgess Advantage members and Burgess employees will receive a discount. For more information call Kris Petersen at 712-423-9358.
